Air Fryer: Crispy, Easy Meals
Experience the authentic taste of Korean flavors at home with these easy air-fried chicken thighs. Marinated in a bold soy-garlic sauce, they emerge from the air fryer with a deliciously crispy exterior and tender, juicy interior, perfect for a quick and flavorful meal.
Ingredients
- 4 large boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish
- 2 tablespoons green onions sliced for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and rice vinegar to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken thighs to the bowl, ensuring they are fully coated. Marinate for at least 15 minutes at room temperature, or cover and refrigerate for up to 2 hours for more intense flavor.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (195°C) for 5 minutes.
- Remove chicken from marinade, shaking off excess. Place chicken thighs in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd. You may need to cook in batches.
- Cook for 18-22 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and the skin is crispy.
- While chicken cooks, in a small saucepan, combine leftover marinade (if any, ensure it hasn't touched raw chicken directly or boil it thoroughly for 5 minutes), cornstarch, and water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sauce thickens into a glaze.
- Once cooked, transfer chicken thighs to a serving plate. Drizzle with the prepared soy-garlic glaze and garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately.
Notes
For an even deeper flavor, marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes, or even overnight. Serve these delicious chicken thighs with steamed rice, a sprinkle of sesame seeds, and chopped green onions. A side of kimchi or a simple cucumber salad would complement the meal beautifully.
