Ingredients
- 1 cup roasted peanuts ground
- 2 tablespoons ginger powder
- 2 tablespoons garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons onion powder
- 3 tablespoons cayenne pepper or to taste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon bouillon powder optional
Instructions
- 1. Ensure peanuts are fully roasted and cooled, then finely grind them in a food processor until a fine, powdery texture is achieved (be careful not to turn into butter).
- 2. In a large bowl, combine the ground peanuts, ginger powder, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and optional bouillon powder.
- 3. Mix all ingredients thoroughly until uniformly blended. Sift the mixture if desired for a finer consistency.
- 4. Store the Yaji spice in an airtight container in a cool, dark place for up to 3 months for optimal freshness and flavor.
Notes
Adjust cayenne pepper for desired heat. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 months. For suya, generously coat sliced meat before grilling. Can also be used on roasted vegetables or fish. For an extra umami kick, some recipes include a small amount of ground bouillon powder.
