Bang Bang Salmon Bites Recipe
A popular fusion dish featuring crispy pan-seared salmon bites coated in a creamy, spicy, and sweet Bang Bang sauce.
Ingredients
- 1 lb salmon fillets skin removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/4 cup Thai sweet chili sauce
- 1 tbsp sriracha or to taste
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1/2 unit lime juiced
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- to taste unit salt
- to taste unit black pepper
- optional unit green onions chopped for garnish
- optional unit sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Thai sweet chili sauce, sriracha, honey, and fresh lime juice until smooth. Set aside.
- Pat salmon cubes dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering. Add salmon cubes in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Sear salmon for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).
- Remove salmon from heat. Either toss the cooked salmon bites directly in the prepared Bang Bang sauce or arrange them on a serving platter and drizzle the sauce generously over them.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds, if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure salmon is patted very dry before searing. Adjust sriracha to control the spice level. Serve immediately over rice, with lettuce wraps, or as a standalone appetizer. Garnish with chopped green onions or sesame seeds for added flavor and visual appeal.
