Ingredients
  

  • 1 can premium tinned sardines in olive oil
  • 2 slices crusty bread sliced
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic halved
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
  • 1 slice lemon for garnish
  • pinch of sea salt optional
  • pinch of black pepper optional

Instructions
 

  • Lightly toast the crusty bread slices until golden.
  • While bread is toasting, open the can of premium tinned sardines. Reserve a little of the olive oil from the tin.
  • Rub the halved garlic clove lightly over the toasted bread slices.
  • Drizzle a little fresh extra virgin olive oil and some of the reserved olive oil from the tin over the bread.
  • Carefully arrange the sardines from the tin onto the toasted bread slices.
  • Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and a lemon slice. Season with a pinch of sea salt and black pepper if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Experiment with different types of tinned fish like mackerel or tuna. A sprinkle of paprika or chopped chili can add a kick. Serve immediately. For an extra touch, drizzle with high-quality balsamic glaze.
