Spicy Korean Chicken Bites
Bold and spicy-sweet chicken bites tossed in a sticky gochujang-based sauce, garnished with green onions. An easy Korean-inspired meal perfect for quick dinners.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lb boneless skinless chicken breast
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 4 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 0.5 inch ginger grated
- 2 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp green onions sliced
- 1 tsp sesame seeds toasted
Instructions
- Cut chicken breast into 1-inch bite-sized pieces and pat dry with paper towels.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and water to create the sauce.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook until browned on all sides and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
- Reduce heat to medium. Pour the prepared gochujang sauce over the cooked chicken. Toss to coat evenly, stirring constantly for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes sticky, ensuring all chicken pieces are well-coated.
- Remove from heat. Transfer the Gochujang Chicken Bites to a serving dish. Garnish generously with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds, if using.
- Serve immediately with steamed white rice or your favorite side dishes.
Notes
For extra crispiness, pan-fry the chicken in batches without overcrowding the pan. Adjust gochujang for desired spice level. Serve with steamed rice and a side of kimchi or pickled radish for a complete Korean-inspired meal. Chicken thighs can be used instead of breast for a juicier result.
