Easy Korean Gochujang Sauce
This vibrant and spicy Korean Gochujang sauce is incredibly versatile, bringing a perfect balance of sweet, savory, and heat to any dish. It's ideal as a marinade for meats, a dipping sauce, or a flavor enhancer for stir-fries.
Ingredients
- 0.5 cup gochujang Korean chili paste
- 0.5 cup soy sauce
- 0.5 cup rice vinegar
- 0.5 cup brown sugar or honey
- 6 Tbsp sesame oil
- 4 Tbsp garlic minced
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar, brown sugar or honey, sesame oil, and minced garlic.
- Whisk vigorously until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and the sugar has dissolved.
- Taste and adjust sweetness or spiciness to your preference. If you like it spicier, add a pinch of Korean chili flakes (gochugaru).
- Use immediately as a marinade or dipping sauce, or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
This sauce is fantastic as a marinade for chicken, pork, or beef for at least 30 minutes, or even overnight for deeper flavor. It also works wonderfully as a dipping sauce for dumplings or spring rolls, or drizzled over grilled vegetables. Adjust gochujang for less heat, or add a pinch of fresh ginger for extra zing. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
